Suttons Veg Cucumber Venlo Pickling Gherkin

Prolific plants producing high-quality cucumbers comparable to glasshouse varieties. Fruits are at their best when about 23cm (9") long. Tolerant of summer heat, and resistant to mildew. Ridge (Outdoor) Variety. Sow in a propagator on a windowsill or in a greenhouse at approx. 15-20°C (60-68°F) using a good quality compost. Ideally sow one seed per 76mm (3") pot to save root disturbance when planting out after frost risk has passed. Cover seed with 13mm (½") compost. (Germination 6-9 days.) Can also be sown direct outside at a depth of 13mm (½"), thinning to 90cm (3') between plants each way. Water and feed regularly during periods of dry weather. Sowing ? Cropping approx. 12-14 weeks.
