- Sow this fine seed on the surface of a lightly firmed, seed compost and do not cover as the seeds need light to aid germination. Place in a propagator or seal container in a polythene bag and place at a temperature of 21-23C (70-75F) until after germination, which usually takes 15-21 days.
- When large enough to handle, transplant seedlings into 7.5cm (3in) pots. Grow on in a glasshouse or on the windowsill and finally repot into a 13cm (5in) pot filled with good quality compost mix. Keep plants uniformly moist and do not overwater. Feed every 14 days with a high potash feed once plants start to bloom. Regularly remove dead heads to prolong flowering. Overwinter plants in a cool 5-7C room or glasshouse and reduce the watering.
