- Sow in late spring early summer outdoors in a well prepared seed bed. Sow the seeds very thinly 3mm (1/8in) deep in drills 30cm (12in) apart. Keep the soil damp until germination takes place and thin out the seedlings to 15cm (6in) apart when large enough to handle.
- Transplant 23cm (9in) apart into flowering site in the autumn for flowering the following spring.
- They will grow in most sites and soils but do best in part shade.
