A tall growing deciduous shrub with twisted and contorted branches, most prominent in winter. The foliage emerges deep burgundy and then slowly ages to dark green. Red catkins are held in early spring, followed by purple hazelnuts in autumn. H: 2.5m. Grows in most soils in sun or part shade.
