Description
Unlike most Juneberry trees, Amelanchier x grandiflora 'Robin Hill' has pink buds and pretty palest pink flowers that open to white. Finely serrated, oval foliage is bronze as it emerges in spring, turning darker green in summer and magnificent shades of red and orange in autumn. Small purple-black berries are also produced in autumn, which can be eaten, although are often left as a treat for hungry birds. Amelanchier x grandiflora 'Robin Hill' has a more upright habit than some Amelanchier and broadens a little with age to gain a height and spread of 4 x 3 metres in 20 years. This fantastic Amelanchier is hardy and tough, growing in most soils including damp sites.
