  • 'Maiden's Blush' is a vigorous shrub rose of upright growth, with greyish-green foliage and fragrant, double, pale pinkish-cream flowers 7cm across in midsummer.
  • Foliage: Deciduous. Habit: Bushy.
  • Position: Full sun. Aspect: South-, west-, or east-facing.
  • Soil: Chalk, clay, loam, or sand. Moisture: Moist but well-drained or well-drained. pH: Acid, alkaline, or neutral.
  • Ultimate height: 1-1.5m. Time to ultimate height: 2-5 years. Ultimate spread: 0.5-1m.
  • For best flowering apply a balanced fertiliser and mulch in late winter or early spring. Tolerant of poor soil, shade, and suitable for hedging. Propagate by hardwood cuttings. May be subject to black spot, rose rust, powdery mildews and a downy mildew. Suggested planting locations: cottages and informal gardens, city and courtyard gardens, hedging and screens, cut flowers, or flower borders and beds.

A very fragrant alba shrub rose with pretty, double very pale pink flowers produced in mid-summer. H&S: 1.2m x 0.9m. Flowers July. Deciduous. Attractive foliage with good disease resistance. Repeat flowering if dead headed. Remove dead wood and shorten side shoots by half in March. Feed after pruning and again in July.
