- Deciduous climber about 1.5-2m in height, with mid-green leaves and pearly white flowers to 10cm across, with purplish-brown anthers, flowering from late spring to early summer and in late summer.
- Foliage: Deciduoous. Habit: Climbing.
- Position: Full sun or partial shade. Aspect: South-, west-, or east-facing.
- Soil: Chalk, clay, loam, or sand. Moisture: Moist but well-drained. pH: Acid, alkaline, or neutral.

- Plant in moisture-retentive, well-drained soil, with the roots and base of the plant kept cool and shaded by other plants or a layer of pebbles at the base. Plant with the crown 5-8cm deep to encourage new shoots to grow from below ground level. Can be grown in containers at least 45cm deep and wide in a loam-based potting compost. Propagate by softwood cuttings in spring, semi-ripe cuttings in early summer or layering. May be susceptible to clematis wilt and clematis slime flux. Suggested planting locations: city and courtyard gardens, cottages and informal gardens, patio and container plants, climber and wall shrubs, and wall side borders.

Description
This lovely variety is early large flowered Clematis. The simple white blooms with contrasting purple anthers are understated and elegant. Clematis 'Destiny' produces its main display in early summer, but you can look forward to a repeat performance in August when a second flush of flowers appear. A compact cultivar that is well suited to containers or borders.
