Fern Asparagus densiflorus 'Myersii' (17cm Pot)

Product Code: 241787
£14.99
  • A majestic burst of bushy, tail-like plumes, it is easy to see where this Fern got its name. Bundles of delicate fronds taper off at the tips as they elegantly adorn your space with a sense of quiet calmness. Each frond is assembled from tiny star-shaped needles, all blanketing together to give the plant a soft and fluffy finish. This starburst of lush green will add a forestry freshness to any interior.
  • Light: Bright, indirect sunlight. Direct sunlight may scorch the needles, whereas insufficient light may turn them yellow and cause them to drop.
  • Watering: Keep moist at all times, but do not allow to stand in water. Less water is required during the winter but don’t let the soil dry out completely. Soil: Chalk, clay, loam, or sand. Moist but well-drained or well-drained. Acid, alkaline, or neutral.
  • Humidity: Prefers a warm, humid environment but will tolerate lower levels of humidity with regular misting.
  • Additional care advice: Normal warm household temperatures. Needs a minimum of 13°C in winter. Feed with a weak solution during the growing season. Growing wider than taller, at full maturity can reach up to 50-90cm high, with a width of 120cm. The berries are inedible. May cause skin irritation.

Description
Fern Asparagus densiflorus 'Myers' is not a true fern, but a member of the lily family. Feathery and soft, this variety of asparagus native to South Africa creates great visual interest when massed; flowers are short lived and are hidden behind foliage therefore not very noticeable. It can produce berries which are toxic to pets so keep me away from pets and kids! My berries can be germinated to produce additional plants.
