Description
Description
One of the most beautiful of the Matsumae varieties. The graceful spreading branches are wreathed with heavy clusters of long-stemmed blooms in late April. These large pale pink flowers have densely packed petals surrounding a centre of bright-green, leafy carpels. The leaves appear ahead of the blossom, and are initially a dark copper bronze colour, becoming green over the summer and then yellow in the autumn.
