Impressionistic Painting with Acrylics 6 week Courses

Impressionistic Painting with Acrylics
Tutor: Zsuzsanna Kelenne Pataki

Each course is 6 weeks long. Start dates available to choose from are:

- Tuesday 8th January 2019 (for 6 weeks) at 9.30am - 12pm
- Tuesday 8th January 2019 (for 6 weeks) at 12.30pm - 3pm
- Friday 11th January 2019 (for 6 weeks) at 9.30am - 12pm (NB Room only accessible via a flight of stairs).

Cost: £110 (including 10% Family Card discount) for each 6 week course. Materials are not included but can be purchased at a discount rate.

Course:
In this course you will learn impressionistic painting techniques alongside the basics of observation and composition, colour theory, and lessons in perspective, all in the context of gardening. Using a wide brush or sponge and a palette knife, you will capture the essence of a subject with discernment and precision.

From still life arrangements to landscapes and gardenscapes, you will be ready to tackle any subject with ease, planning, developing and completing your work.

Beginners welcome: no prior experience is necessary. Basic dexterity, willingness to learn and a love of colour is all you need to start.

Course materials are not supplied but can be purchased at a discounted rate.

• Wildlife and wildlife havens
• Plant choice and wildlife – gardens significant impact on nature
• Sustainable gardening
• Gardening in a changing climate
• Peat-free growing
• Sustainable design
• Within these four walls – how to reuse and recycle in the garden.

Module 3- Growing your own vegetables

This module starts on Saturday 27th April 9.30am - 12.30pm (spaces available) 10 weeks.

• Planning your vegetable garden – when and what to sow
• Preparing the ground
• Use of fertilisers and compost – including green manures
• Sowing and planting
• Pests and disease monitoring and management
• Harvesting and avoiding gluts
• Gardens and your well-being
• Herbs for eating
• Plants for medicinal interest

Food & Produce Market (Keep it Local Events)

09:00 - 13:00

Organised by the Keep it Local team who created the popular craft fairs at Coolings, there will be all your regular favourite stalls as well as some additional producers selling fresh, locally sourced or made foods. Tip top fresh meat, fish, bread and cakes, fruit and vegetables grown for flavour rather than volume, juicy jams and chutneys and varieties of locally brewed beers are just some of the delights you will find here.

Free to attend.

Extra Information: Organised by the Keep it Local team. The market runs from 9am to 1pm every fourth Saturday of the month. Except for December.
