Elaeagnus x ebbingei ‘Gilt Edge’ is an evergreen shrub, bearing leaves with contrasting dark green centres and gold-coloured margins. Inconspicuous silvery flowers, with an intense fragrance, appear in October, followed by red fruit. The Royal Horticultural Society has given it its prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM).
