- 'Flames of Passion' is a compact, clump-forming perennial to 45cm tall, 40cm wide, with lobed basal leaves and reddish-brown stems bearing several semi-double deep red-pink flowers in late spring. These are slightly nodding in bud, more upward-facing at maturity, the overlapping petals giving a frilled appearance and surrounding a boss of yellow and brownish stamens. Buds are deep reddish-brown
