Coolings wins at the Garden Centre Association South East Region Awards
We’re delighted to share some fantastic news from this year’s Garden Centre Association (GCA) South East Area Awards, with both Coolings Garden Centre, Rushmore Hill and Coolings Wych Cross receiving recognition across a wide range of categories.
The awards celebrate excellence across the garden centre industry, recognising outstanding retailing, customer service, plant quality and specialist departments.
Rushmore Hill Crowned Garden Centre of the Year
Our Rushmore Hill garden centre enjoyed an exceptional day, taking home four first-place awards, including the prestigious Garden Centre of the Year Award.
Rushmore Hill received:
- 1st Place – Garden Centre of the Year
- 1st Place – Customer Service
- 1st Place – Ruxley Rose Award
- 1st Place – Pots & Ornamentation
- 2nd Place – Garden Construction
These results are a testament to the dedication, expertise and passion of our team, who work tirelessly to create an inspiring and enjoyable experience for every customer.
Coolings Wych Cross Also Recognised Across Multiple Categories
Our Wych Cross garden centre also performed brilliantly in the Local Garden Centre category, receiving awards across nine different areas.
Wych Cross achieved:
- 2nd Place – Garden Centre of the Year
- 2nd Place – Ruxley Rose Award
- 1st Place – Pots & Ornamentation
- 2nd Place – Garden Construction
- 2nd Place – Indoor Lifestyle
- 2nd Place – Outdoor Living
- 2nd Place – Catering Excellence

Recognition Across the Business
Both Rushmore Hill and Wych Cross were Highly Commended, reflecting the consistently high standards found across our centres.
In addition, both centres will be revisited later this autumn as part of the judging process for the prestigious Ruxley Rose Award, recognising excellence in rose displays and horticultural standards.
