We always try and work as a team at Cooling and this enables us to achieve so much more and give you the customer a better service. Our team now consists of approximately 140 staff, this number however does vary depending on the time of year.
Mark our Plant Area manager is a general all round expert in plants. With a great overall background knowledge he should be able to answer any questions you throw at him!
John is our wildlife expert, having done conservation work in Britain and Senegal. He has a particular interest in birdcare, as well as wildlife in general, plus he is a keen photographer. John works as the shop manager at Green & Pleasant.
Ian is our Production Director and an expert in annuals/bedding plants. Ian has been with Coolings since 1991 when he started as Glasshouse Supervisor, but is now in charge of the production of over 1 million bedding and patio plants, plus 6000 hanging baskets every year.
Gary is our Managing Director and has been with Coolings since we were based in Chislehurst. With over 20 years in the garden industry Gary has a wealth of knowledge on plants and gardening in general. We believe in a hands on approach and so you will often see Gary and Paul out in the plant area working with the rest of the team.
Paul is our Chairman and is the grandson of our founder Arthur Cooling. Paul has been working within the business for much of his working life, but with over 25 years experience in the garden industry both at Coolings and other well known Garden Centre’s he knows a thing or two about gardening. We believe in a hands on approach and so you will often see Gary and Paul out in the plant area working with the rest of the team.
