Coolings Garden Centre - Kent

Gary is our Managing Director and has been with Coolings since we were based in Chislehurst. With over 20 years in the garden industry Gary has a wealth of knowledge on plants and gardening in general. We believe in a hands on approach and so you will often see Gary and Paul out in the plant area working with the rest of the team.

Gary started working in the garden centre industry at 15 for Robinsons Hardy plants where he did potting, sowing and taking cuttings. He then joined Coolings when still at Chislehurst. Gary then studied for his National Diploma at Hadlow in commercial Horticulture before working for various other nurseries including Waterers, Notcutts and then Ruxley Manor Garden Centre in Sidcup. After this he rejoined Coolings in 1990 as a plant sales manager and from there has progressed to become a director in 1998. Gary became Managing Director in late 2006 when Paul Cooling became Chairman. Gary is responsible for the day to day running of the business and works very closely with all the management team and Paul.
