The Future

Our commitment to offering a unique experience that encourages people to spend time in the garden will continue.

Currently we have a five year plan that seeks to improve both sites and ultimately your enjoyment of Coolings for now and years to come.

This will include a commitment to you our customer, investing in our site and of course our people. Already a leading carbon neutral company, we will use sustainable energy, aggressively recycle, promote locally grown plants and worry about the detail.

Behind the scenes - The Garden Centre

Arguably the most unique part of Coolings is, unlike many garden centres, that we grow the majority of our plants.
Our team of 12 growers ensures, even on the busiest weekend, you can be sure of the freshest, locally grown stock around.
We are seeking to reduce our impact on the local environment. In fact, by growing large numbers of carbon consuming plants we are positively helping the environment.
Our 7 million litre reservoir, situated within the production nursery, reduces our dependence on Thames Water – we are now 80% self sufficient. Plant quality, and the ability to withstand disease,
are enhanced by using our own filtered rain water.

Sign Posts

Another new addition is several sign posts situated around the site at The Gardener's Garden Centre. These have been placed at strategic points within the Garden Centre.

This should enable you to find your way around that much easier and locate the plant group you have been looking for. The sign posts in addition to the new map guide to Coolings should make your visit that much easier and pleasurable.
