Our own Chairman, Paul Cooling enjoyed a visit to Chelsea this year and particularly enjoyed seeing the use of vegetables being grown as part of a mixed border which was seen in several instances around the show.
Paul adds “It was a real treat to see the planting of edibles and plants for scents amid the beautiful flowers. It’s important to remember our outside spaces are not just for people to enjoy – the flowers, fruits and seeds provide food for wildlife and nectar for bees and butterflies, while the plants offer nesting sites and shelter for birds and other animals. I also particularly enjoyed the stunning peonies on display and the Raymond Evison (clematis) and David Austin (roses) stands looked fantastic as ever”.
